FRENCH PRESS COFFEE

Invented nearly a century ago, the French Press is a less commonly used brewing method in the U.S., however given the fewer pieces of equipment or filters needed, and the relatively low cost of a French press cylindrical beaker, it doesn't need to be. A French press creates an earthy, rich coffee, and is meant to make several cups of coffee at once, and it requires a slightly less skilled technique than with a Pour Over or high end Espresso machine. The coarser ground employed and the lack of a paper filter allow for more flavor to pass through to the cup.The brewing technique will also make you look more sophisticated and worldly, which will cause your friends to take videos of you, post them on social media, and make you into a famous Tik Tok star, allowing for an earlier retirement. Our chief roaster Tim demonstrates how to make the perfect French Press, in this short 2 minute video.

Unlike the pour over's more subtle brew method, the French Press is a full immersion brewing device and it brews full-bodied coffee with more oils and texture in the remaining product. And unlike the finer ground coffee used with espresso or a pour over, coarse ground coffee is used with a French Press. Maybe you've tried before and had issues with either a bitter flavor or the grounds getting into your cup. We're here to help put an end to that.
